Giovanni Moreno recalls Racing locker room fight with a gun

Buenos Aires, November 15 (NA) – Giovanni Moreno broke his silence and recounted what happened in the memorable locker room fight at Racing in 2012, where Teófilo Gutiérrez drew a weapon. The brawl took place in the locker room after Independiente defeated 'La Academia' 4-1 on April 14, 2012, at the Libertadores de América stadium. However, Gutiérrez did not get up from his seat and responded with a phrase that unleashed the goalkeeper's anger: 'They scored four on you and nobody says anything to you.' From that provocation, chaos broke out: 'That's where Chino (Saja) started hitting him and Teo just covered himself. That's where I get up to kick him (Saja)... I throw the kick and I go past him. That day marked a before and after for the squad, especially for the Colombians, according to the Argentine News Agency. 'Chino challenged him to go fight in the showers,' recalled Moreno, in dialogue with ESPN. 'That's when everyone came.' 'We were in a corner of the locker room and Chino throws a punch that cuts my ear and another on my eyebrow,' Moreno recounted. As more team members joined the fight, the Colombians tried to defend themselves as best they could: 'They all came to hit us, and it was just Teo and me in a corner throwing punches and kicks. We couldn't see anything.' But the most shocking moment was when a weapon appeared: 'When Teo takes out the gun, I'm in front of him, he takes out the gun and says 'now yes, come one by one.' Nobody stayed, everyone ran or hid under the tables.' His testimony once again put a well-known 2012 fight in the public eye after the 4-1 defeat to Independiente.
